Today Magnus Rosén Band release their tribute album “Outside the Rock Box”. A tribute to the bands, artists and musicians which have inspired them over the years such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Bon Jovi amongst others. It also contains a take on the classic Swedish folk song “Visa från Utanmyra” which Jan Johansson immortalized on his classic album “Jazz på Svenska” from 1964. Continuing on the folksy road, “Ack Värmeland du sköna” gets a new more modern sound which is a nice way of blending the old with the new. This could also be seen as one the album’s themes where you have Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc. sharing space with both Finnish and Swedish folk music.
